Wall ball is one of the simplest yet most effective drills in lacrosse—and it’s something players at every level can benefit from. Whether you're just starting out or play in the NLL, wall ball is a great way to sharpen your skills, build muscle memory, and stay game-ready.
Wall ball involves passing and catching a lacrosse ball off a wall repeatedly. It might sound basic, but this repetitive motion trains your hands, enhances coordination, and builds quick reaction time. You can practice both your dominant and non-dominant hands, work on one-handed cradles, quick sticks, behind-the-back passes, and even footwork—all in just a few square feet of space.
Wall ball is also an excellent warm-up before a game or practice. It gets your arms moving, your eyes tracking the ball, and your mind locked into the rhythm of the game. Just 10–15 minutes of focused wall ball can get you dialed in and confident before stepping onto the field.
Consistency is key. A few minutes a day can lead to real improvements in your stick skills. So grab your stick, find a sturdy wall, and get to work—it’s one of the best training partners you’ll ever have.
